Perfectionism has no place in recovery.
It takes time to absorb our program, and we do that during our down time,
not while we’re working. It makes no sense to cram, because
the program has only one criterion: improvement.
IF WE’RE NOT HAVING ANY FUN, WE’RE DOING IT WRONG!
We have to take time to smell the roses.
If it’s working for you and you’re happy, don’t fix it!

I totally agree with this post. I am 11 years clean this week, having never relapsed from when I first came into recovery but I have never attempted to achieve a “perfect” recovery. A lot of the suggestions of “the Programme” I have not and do not follow but I have kept going to meetings and made sure that, no matter what happened, I never picked up alcohol and drugs.
